Best Glock Holsters (2026): 8 Picks for the Glock 19, 43X and 17

The holster matters as much as the Glock you put in it. A good one covers the trigger, holds the gun where you put it, and is comfortable enough that you wear it every day. A bad one ends up in a drawer.
"Glock holster" is the most-searched holster phrase in America this month, and most of the people searching want to know the same thing: which holster fits my Glock and the way I carry? We compared eight holsters you can order today, from a $28 clip-free pocket holster to a $160 Level 3 duty rig, and we state exactly which Glock models each one is made for. This is a research guide built from maker specs, live store listings and owner reviews, not a hands-on test.
The short answer

How we chose
Nobody at OSS America wore these holsters for this guide. We started with what shooters are searching for right now: Google's related searches for "holster" over the past 30 days are led by "glock holster," followed by "gun holster," "IWB holster," "leather holster," "OWB holster," "Safariland holster," "chest holster" and "Glock 19 holster." Then we looked at what Sportsman's Warehouse and EuroOptic actually had in stock and shipping to homes on October 12, 2026, and read each maker's specs, fit lists and owner reviews.
We focused on the three Glocks people carry most, the Glock 19, Glock 43X and Glock 17, and covered each common way to carry: appendix and strong-side IWB, OWB, a light-bearing setup, leather, a locking OWB holster and a duty rig. We weighed exact fit, trigger coverage, retention, carry options, optic and light compatibility and price. We dropped the Galco KingTuk Deluxe because Galco now lists it as a closeout.

Prices and stock checked on the store's product page on October 12, 2026, before tax and shipping. Sportsman's had the Safariland Schema and 7378 on clearance. Fit lists are for the exact listing we link; most of these holsters are also made for other Glocks.
How to read the chart: six of the eight hold the gun with friction or a molded fit, which is normal for concealed carry. Only two add an active lock you release with your thumb (orange bars). Leather and locking duty gear cost more, but the everyday carry holsters cluster between about $40 and $80.
The 8 best Glock holsters, ranked
Alien Gear Photon (No Light)
Best Glock holster overall

Sportsman's Warehouse: about $50 · Fits: Glock 19, 23, 44, 45 · Carry: IWB appendix or OWB, either hand
If you only buy one Glock 19 holster, this is the easiest to recommend, because you don't have to decide how you'll carry before you've tried it. The Photon is a single injection-molded polymer shell that you can set up inside the waistband in the appendix position, or move outside the waistband anywhere on your belt. It's ambidextrous, so a left-handed shooter can flip it, and you can adjust cant, ride height and retention.
Alien Gear says the Photon fits optic plates that don't stick out past the front of the optic mount and works with suppressor-height sights, so a red-dot Glock with tall sights is covered. The Sportsman's listing linked here is the no-light version (model PHO-0057-L0-D) for the Glock 19, 23, 44 and 45, made in the USA.
On Alien Gear's own page the Photon carried a 4.3 rating from 1,317 reviews on October 12, 2026. Owners mostly praise how many ways it can be set up; one recent reviewer wished it had an active lock, which is fair: retention here is friction you tighten with screws. Sportsman's light-bearing Photon listing doesn't say which light it fits, so we ranked the no-light version.
| Model | PHO-0057-L0-D (no light) |
| Fits | Glock 19, 23, 44, 45 |
| Carry | IWB appendix or OWB; ambidextrous |
| Retention | Passive, adjustable |
| Optics | Optic-ready (plates that don't extend past the mount); suppressor-height sights OK |
Pros
- + One holster for IWB and OWB
- + Works for either hand
- + Red-dot and suppressor-sight friendly
Cons
- − No active lock; retention is friction you adjust
- − Not as small as a skeletonized IWB like the Schema
- − Light-bearing version at Sportsman's doesn't name its light
CrossBreed Reckoning
Best for all-day comfort

Sportsman's Warehouse: about $77 · Fits: Glock 19, right hand · Carry: IWB (strong side, appendix or cross draw), converts to OWB
The Reckoning is a hybrid holster: a top-grain leather backer against your body and a molded Kydex pocket for the gun. The wide backer spreads the weight and keeps the slide off your skin. CrossBreed gives you two ways to tune retention: screws that mount the Kydex pocket to the backer, and a retention device installed under the trigger guard.
CrossBreed says it can be worn inside the waistband on the strong side, in the appendix position or as a cross draw, and it converts to outside-the-waistband carry with the included OWB clips. On CrossBreed's site the Reckoning showed 2,145 reviews averaging 4.7 on October 12. Owners keep coming back to comfort; one suggested adding a claw to tuck the grip in tighter for appendix carry.
Sportsman's sells the right-hand Glock 19 version with a black cowhide backer at about $77, a few dollars under CrossBreed's $79.95 list price. CrossBreed's try-it guarantee and lifetime warranty are described on its own site; check Sportsman's return terms before you order.
| Model | RECK-R-1220-CB-BL |
| Fits | Glock 19, right hand |
| Build | Leather backer + Kydex pocket |
| Retention | Adjustable pocket screws + trigger-guard retention device |
| Carry | IWB strong side, appendix or cross draw; OWB clips included (CrossBreed) |
Pros
- + Leather backer spreads the weight for long days
- + Two ways to adjust retention
- + IWB and OWB clips (per CrossBreed)
Cons
- − Right-hand only in this listing
- − Wider footprint than a minimalist Kydex holster
- − Leather backer needs more care than an all-Kydex holster
G-Code Prime Carry Light Bearing (TLR-7A)
Best light-bearing Glock 19 holster

Sportsman's Warehouse: about $60 · Fits: Glock 19, 19X, 45 (Gen 3 to 5) with a Streamlight TLR-7A · Carry: IWB or OWB, either hand
A weapon light changes the shape of your pistol, so it needs a holster made for that exact combination. G-Code's Prime Carry is a precision-molded Kydex holster that comes with both IWB and OWB attachments (single clip, double clip and a paddle in G-Code's photos), so you can wear the same holster inside the waistband for concealment or on the belt at the range.
The version Sportsman's sells is G-Code combo 101L33: Glock 19, 19X and 45 in Gen 3 to 5 with a Streamlight TLR-7A, one of the most common Glock lights. G-Code says every Prime Carry is optics-ready and ambidextrous, made 100% in the USA and covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
Sportsman's price on October 12 was $59.95, the same as G-Code's. The listing had no owner reviews yet, so we're going by the maker's specs.
| Model | GPC-K01-101L33 |
| Fits | Glock 19, 19X, 45 (Gen 3-5) + Streamlight TLR-7A |
| Build | Kydex, made in USA |
| Carry | IWB or OWB; IWB and OWB attachments included |
| Retention | Passive, molded fit |
| Warranty | Limited lifetime (G-Code) |
Pros
- + Made for the Glock 19 + TLR-7A combo
- + IWB and OWB hardware in the box
- + Optics-ready, ambidextrous
Cons
- − Only fits that one light; change lights, change holsters
- − No owner reviews on the listing yet
- − Light-bearing holsters are longer and harder to hide
Safariland Schema (Glock 43/43X)
Best for the Glock 43 and 43X

Sportsman's Warehouse: about $43 (clearance, was $50.99) · Fits: Glock 43, 43X, right hand · Carry: IWB
Slim Glocks like the 43X are built to disappear, and a big holster defeats the point. Safariland's Schema is a skeletonized, minimalist IWB holster that covers the trigger guard and not much else. The cutouts keep it small and light, the reinforced mouth stays open so you can reholster while wearing it, and you can adjust the cant and how high it mounts.
Retention is passive: a molded trigger-guard lock-in that clicks the gun into place. Safariland lists optic compatibility with the Romeo Zero, RMR CC, Shield RMS and RMS-C, Holosun 407K and 507K and similar small red dots. Two limits from Safariland's own page: the Schema does not work with suppressor-height sights, and it only comes in a right-hand version.
Sportsman's had the Glock 43/43X Schema on clearance for $42.97 on October 12 (regular $50.99, which is also Safariland's price). If you carry a Glock 43X, see our Sig P365 X-Macro vs Glock 43X comparison too.
| Model | 19-895-411 |
| Fits | Glock 43, 43X; right hand only |
| Carry | IWB; adjustable cant and height |
| Retention | Passive trigger-guard retention |
| Optics | Small red dots (Romeo Zero, RMR CC, RMS, 407K/507K and similar) |
| Not for | Suppressor-height sights (Safariland) |
Pros
- + Very small, light footprint
- + Works with common micro red dots
- + Reinforced mouth for one-hand reholstering
Cons
- − Right-hand only
- − No suppressor-height sights
- − Few owner ratings on the listing
Safariland 7378 7TS ALS Concealment
Best OWB holster with a retention lock

Sportsman's Warehouse: about $82 (clearance, was $97.00) · Fits: Glock 17, right hand · Carry: OWB paddle or belt loop
If you carry outside the waistband at the range, on the farm or in the woods, a holster that locks the gun in is worth a look. The 7378 uses Safariland's ALS (Automatic Locking System): the pistol locks automatically when you holster it, and your thumb sweeps the release as you take your firing grip. The top is open, with no hood, so the draw stays fast.
It's molded from SafariSeven nylon, which Safariland says won't mar your finish and stays sound from 300°F down to -50°F. It ships with both a paddle (belts up to 1.75 inches) and a belt loop (1.5 to 1.75 inches), the cant adjusts, and it can be worn cross draw.
The listing linked here fits the Glock 17 in a right-hand holster. Safariland makes the 7378 for many pistols, so if you carry a Glock 19, order that fit instead. On October 12 Sportsman's had this one on clearance for $81.97, down from Safariland's $97.00 list price.
| Model | 7378-835-411 |
| Fits | Glock 17, right hand |
| Retention | ALS automatic lock, thumb release |
| Mounting | Paddle (belts to 1.75 in) + belt loop (1.5 to 1.75 in) |
| Material | SafariSeven nylon; -50°F to 300°F (Safariland) |
Pros
- + Locks the gun in without a hood
- + Paddle and belt loop both included
- + Built for heat, cold, mud and rain
Cons
- − Glock 17 only in this listing
- − Takes practice to sweep the release every time
- − OWB only; bulky for concealment under a T-shirt
Galco Combat Master
Best leather Glock holster

Sportsman's Warehouse: about $125 · Fits: Glock 19, right hand, tan · Carry: OWB pancake
There's still nothing quite like a good leather pancake holster. Galco hand-molds the Combat Master to fit a specific pistol, builds it from premium steerhide with double-stitched seams, and puts the belt slots on both sides of the holster so it pulls the gun tight against your body. The butt-forward cant tucks the grip in under a jacket or untucked shirt.
The top is open for a fast draw and the muzzle is open at the bottom; the belt slots take belts up to 1 3/4 inches. One important limit from Galco: the Combat Master is not compatible with red-dot optics, so it's for an iron-sighted Glock 19. Galco's own page showed 683 reviews for the Combat Master on October 12, and 673 of them were five stars.
Galco's list price is $158.00. Sportsman's had the tan, right-hand Glock 19 version for $124.99, which is a real saving for a holster of this quality.
| Model | CM226 |
| Fits | Glock 19, right hand, tan |
| Material | Premium steerhide, double-stitched |
| Carry | OWB pancake, butt-forward cant; belts to 1 3/4 in |
| Optics | Not compatible with red dots (Galco) |
Pros
- + Classic leather that hugs the body
- + Very strong owner ratings on Galco's site
- + Well under Galco's list price at Sportsman's
Cons
- − Won't take a red dot
- − Leather needs break-in and care
- − OWB only, no IWB option
Blackhawk SERPA Level 3 Tactical
Best duty and drop-leg holster

Sportsman's Warehouse: about $160 · Fits: Glock 17, 19, 22/23 (not Gen 5), 31, 32, 45, 47, right hand · Carry: drop-leg
This is the opposite of a concealed-carry holster: a full-size duty rig that rides on your thigh and holds the gun with layered retention. Blackhawk calls the SERPA Level 3 Tactical its highest level of function, retention and security. A thumb-activated pivot guard covers the back of the slide, the SERPA Auto-Lock grabs the gun inside, and a passive tension screw adds friction on top of that.
The drop-leg platform puts the gun below body armor, a pack's hip belt or a plate carrier, which helps if you wear armor or carry a heavy pack. A Y-harness hangs it from your belt and keeps it vertical, and the platform has mounting points for pouches. Blackhawk lists this exact SKU (430600BK-R) for the Glock 17/19/22 and 23 (non Gen 5)/31/32/45/47. Note that the SERPA release is pressed with your trigger finger; some ranges and training classes don't allow that style of release, so check before you sign up.
Blackhawk's own price is $184.95; Sportsman's had it for $159.99 on October 12.
| Model | 430600BK-R |
| Fits | Glock 17, 19, 22/23 (non Gen 5), 31, 32, 45, 47 |
| Retention | Level 3 (Blackhawk): pivot guard + SERPA Auto-Lock + passive screw |
| Carry | Drop-leg thigh platform, Y-harness |
| Extras | Mounting points for pouches; fits Blackhawk injection-molded platforms |
Pros
- + Highest retention in this guide
- + Fits the Glock 17 and 19 in one holster
- + Clears a pack hip belt or armor
Cons
- − Trigger-finger release is banned at some ranges and classes
- − Bulky; not for concealment
- − Most expensive pick here
Sticky Holsters OR-7 (Optics Ready)
Best budget and clip-free holster

EuroOptic: about $28 (was $30.95) · Fits: Glock 19, 23, 48 · Carry: IWB without a clip, or pocket
Sometimes you just need something safe to put the gun in: a backup, a truck holster or one for pocket carry. Sticky Holsters skip the clip altogether. The outside of the holster is a grippy, rubbery material that holds it in place against your waistband or the inside of a pocket, and the gun stays in by friction.
EuroOptic lists the OR-7 as the optics-ready version for the Glock 19, 23 and 48. On October 12 it was $27.95, marked down from $30.95, and in stock. EuroOptic's only listing photo shows a tag reading "OR 7 Mod," which is Sticky's version for guns with a light or laser; check the model when it arrives.
Know what this is: there's no adjustable retention and nothing locks it to your belt, so it can come out with the gun on a hurried draw, and it isn't for running, climbing or rough work. For calm everyday carry, it's an inexpensive way to cover the trigger.
| Model | OR-7 (optics ready) |
| Fits | Glock 19, 23, 48 (plus HK VP9/P30/USP, S&W M&P, Sig P320/M18, SAI Hellcat RDP) |
| Carry | IWB or pocket, no clip; ambidextrous |
| Retention | Friction only |
Pros
- + Cheapest pick, under $30
- + No clip to print or snag
- + Pocket or waistband
Cons
- − No adjustable retention
- − Holster can come out with the gun on a fast draw
- − Not for hard, active use
Carrying in the backcountry? Consider a chest holster
"Chest holster" is one of the top holster searches this month, and for good reason: a pack's hip belt, waders or a heavy coat can bury a belt holster. Two options we found in stock on October 12, 2026:
- CrossBreed Chest Rig for the Glock 20, 21 and 40 (right hand, $149.99 at Sportsman's Warehouse): a suede-backed leather platform with an adjustable Kydex pocket, made for the 10mm and .45 Glocks many hunters carry in bear country. Only two Sportsman's shoppers had rated it (2 stars average), so read the listing's Q&A first.
- 945 Industries Delta Chest Holster Platform ($149.99 at 945 Industries): a slim Tegris chest plate with three-strap webbing that accepts 945 Industries holsters plus Safariland QLS and Blade-Tech hole patterns. The store showed one option, so confirm whether a holster is included. See our 945 Industries holster guide for their Glock holsters.
Which should you buy?
- You carry a Glock 19 and aren't sure how you'll wear it: Alien Gear Photon. It does IWB and OWB.
- You want to wear it all day without thinking about it: CrossBreed Reckoning.
- Your Glock 19 wears a Streamlight TLR-7A: G-Code Prime Carry light-bearing.
- You carry a Glock 43 or 43X: Safariland Schema (right-handed shooters).
- You carry a Glock 17 openly and want it locked in: Safariland 7378 7TS ALS.
- You love leather and run iron sights: Galco Combat Master.
- You wear armor, a plate carrier or a heavy pack: Blackhawk SERPA Level 3 drop-leg.
- You need a cheap backup or pocket holster: Sticky Holsters OR-7.
What to look for in a Glock holster
- A fit made for your exact model. A Glock 19 and a Glock 17 share a frame shape but not a slide length, and a 43X is a different gun entirely. Every holster above is sold in model-specific fits; match the listing to your pistol, including any light or optic. Not sure which Glock to carry? Start with our best 9mm pistols and best concealed carry guns by caliber guides.
- Full trigger-guard coverage. This is the one non-negotiable. Glocks have no manual safety, so the holster has to cover the trigger completely.
- Retention you can trust. Passive retention (a molded fit, often adjustable) is standard for concealed carry. For open carry, duty or rough outdoor work, an active lock adds security; practice the release until it's automatic.
- The way you'll actually carry. Appendix IWB hides a gun under a T-shirt, OWB is comfortable but harder to hide, and chest rigs and drop-legs work around packs and heavy gear.
- Optic and light compatibility. Red-dot Glocks need an optic cut, and a weapon light needs a holster made for that light.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Glock 19 holster?
For most people, the Alien Gear Photon (about $50 at Sportsman's Warehouse on October 12, 2026), because one holster covers appendix IWB and OWB carry for either hand and works with red dots. If all-day comfort matters most, the CrossBreed Reckoning hybrid (about $77) is the pick, and if your Glock 19 has a Streamlight TLR-7A, get the G-Code Prime Carry light-bearing model (about $60).
Will a Glock 19 holster fit a Glock 17?
Don't assume it. The Glock 17 has a longer slide and barrel than the 19, so whether a holster fits depends on how the maker built it. Always buy the fit the maker lists for your pistol. In this guide, the Blackhawk SERPA Level 3 is the one listing made for both the Glock 17 and 19.
What holster fits the Glock 43X?
In this guide, the Safariland Schema for the Glock 43 and 43X (right hand only, about $43 on clearance at Sportsman's Warehouse on October 12, 2026).
Is IWB or OWB better for concealed carry?
Inside the waistband (IWB) hides a pistol far better, especially in summer clothes, and appendix IWB is the easiest position to conceal. Outside the waistband (OWB) is more comfortable and faster to draw from, but you'll need a jacket or untucked shirt to cover it. The Photon and G-Code Prime Carry let you try both with one holster.
Do I need a retention holster?
For everyday concealed carry, a well-made Kydex or polymer holster with passive retention is the norm. For open carry, duty use, or rough outdoor work like climbing, riding or running, an active lock adds a layer of security. The Safariland 7378 (thumb release) and the Blackhawk SERPA Level 3 (two active locks) are the locking options here.
Are leather holsters good for Glocks?
Yes, if you choose a quality one and accept a break-in period. Galco's Combat Master is hand-molded to the Glock 19 and had 683 reviews, 673 of them five stars, on Galco's site on October 12, 2026. It needs more care than Kydex, and it doesn't take a red dot.
The bottom line
Start with the Alien Gear Photon if you carry a Glock 19 and want one holster you can wear inside or outside the waistband. Step up to the CrossBreed Reckoning if comfort is what keeps you carrying every day, and pick the G-Code Prime Carry if your Glock wears a TLR-7A. Whatever you buy, match it to your exact pistol, practice your draw with an empty gun, and know your state's carry laws.
