The short version
OSS America uses a small number of essential and analytics cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not fingerprint your device. You can turn analytics off in your browser settings at any time without breaking the site.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small piece of text a website stores in your browser so it can remember things across page loads — your login state, your dark-mode preference, your shopping cart.
The cookies we use
Essential cookies
These are required for the site to work. They include:
- Session — keeps you logged in if you have an account.
- Affiliate referral — records that you came from OSS America so the brand can pay us a commission on a purchase. Expires after 30 days.
- CSRF token — protects forms (like the brand application) from cross-site forgery attacks.
Analytics cookies
We use Vercel's built-in analytics to understand which pages, categories, and brands are most useful to visitors. The data is aggregated and anonymized — we don't see "you specifically." You can opt out by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser.
What we don't use
- No Google Ads / Meta Pixel / TikTok tracking.
- No third-party retargeting cookies.
- No device fingerprinting.
- No social-platform login trackers.
Turning cookies off
You can disable cookies entirely in your browser. If you do, account features and affiliate referrals will not work, but the rest of the site (browsing, reading reviews, applying as a brand) will function normally.
Browser-specific instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Updates
If we add or remove a cookie, we'll update this page. See also our Privacy Policy for the broader picture of how we handle personal data.
