Privacy policy

The short version

OSS America collects as little personal information as possible. We don't sell it. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't train AI models on it. We use it to send you the gear, the reviews, and the dispatch you signed up for — and that's it.

What we collect

When you use OSS America, we may collect:

• Account info — your name and email, if you sign up for an account, save items, or subscribe to the Dispatch newsletter.
• Brand application info — if you apply to sell through OSS America, the answers you give us on the application form.
• Click + browse data — which categories, products, and brands you view. We use this only to make recommendations better and to spot broken links.
• Affiliate referral data — when you click a product link, the referring brand may receive a unique ID so they can pay us a commission. They do not receive your name or contact information.

What we don't collect

We don't collect your political affiliation, religion, firearm ownership status, or anything else used by platforms to profile or de-platform American outdoor consumers. We don't build shadow profiles. We don't pixel your purchases for ad retargeting.

How we use it

We use the information we collect to:

• Run your account and send you what you signed up for.
• Send the Dispatch newsletter — only if you opted in, and only until you unsubscribe.
• Process brand applications and contact you about your storefront.
• Improve the site — category curation, broken-link fixes, product-search relevance.
• Comply with US law when legally compelled.

Who we share it with

No advertisers. No data brokers. No social platforms. We share information only with the operational vendors required to run the site:

• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
• Supabase — our database (US-based account infrastructure).
• Resend — transactional email (account confirmations, application receipts, the Dispatch newsletter).
• Stripe — payment processing, only when you make a purchase through an OSS America-hosted checkout.
• Higgsfield + Leonardo AI — image generation for site visuals only. No personal data is sent to these services.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to: see what personal data we hold on you, correct it, delete it, or export it. Write to privacy@ossamerica.com and we will respond within 30 days. Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, and similar-statute states have specific rights under their respective laws; we honor all of them.

Children

OSS America is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

We'll update this page if we change anything material. The "last updated" date below tells you when. We'll email Dispatch subscribers about any significant change.
