Best Heated Vests (2026): 8 Picks for Men, Women and Hunters

A heated vest is the cheapest way to stay warm when you can't move around. On a deer stand, in a duck blind, at a late-season ballgame or on a cold job site, your core cools first, and your hands and feet go next. A few carbon-fiber panels and a pocket battery fix that for a fraction of what a heated jacket costs, and a vest layers under the coat you already own.

We compared eight heated vests you can actually buy today from ActionHeat and Sportsman's Warehouse, men's and women's, from a $99.99 fleece to a six-zone Bluetooth puffer. Every price, size and runtime below comes from the store or maker page on October 5, 2026. This is a research guide built on published specs, not a hands-on test, and where a maker doesn't publish a number we say so.

The short answer

For most people, the ActionHeat Performance Fleece is the heated vest to buy. Our picks:

Prices checked October 5, 2026, before tax and shipping. Women's versions are linked in each review below.

How we chose

Nobody at OSS America wore these vests for this guide. We started with what people are searching for right now: "best heated vest," "battery heated vest" and "women heated vest" are among Google's top related searches for heated vests over the last 30 days, and "heated fleece vest" is the fastest-rising one. Then we went through every heated vest ActionHeat and Sportsman's Warehouse had in stock on October 5, 2026, and read each maker's specs.

We ranked on where the heat goes (number and placement of zones), listed runtime on low, battery type (a standard USB power bank is easier to replace than a proprietary pack), the shell (fleece, softshell, puffer or liner), men's and women's sizing in stock and price. Runtime numbers are the maker's estimates, so treat them as a best case.

Prices, stock and specs checked October 5, 2026 at ActionHeat.com and Sportsman's Warehouse (men's versions). Low-setting hours are the maker's estimates as listed; Fieldsheer lists a single "up to 10 hours" figure and Muddy lists none. Hours per $100 = listed low hours / price x 100. Prices change often.

Best heated vests 2026, maker-listed hours of heat on low per $100: Fieldsheer Peak Bluetooth 7.7 h ($129.99, up to 10 hours), ActionHeat Classic Fleece 4.5 h ($99.99), ActionHeat Vest Liner 3.8 h ($119.99), ActionHeat Performance Fleece, Hunting Vest and Pocono Puffer 3.2 h ($139.99 each, 4.5+ hours), ActionHeat Pro Series+ Puffer 2.6 h ($229.99, 6+ hours), Muddy Nucleus runtime not listed ($139.99)
Heat per dollar: maker-listed hours of heat on the low setting per $100, prices checked October 5, 2026. Save it or pin it.

How to read the chart: most ActionHeat vests share the same 6,000mAh bank and 4.5+ hour low rating, so extra money buys the shell and features, not more heat. The Fieldsheer Peak has the biggest runtime claim per dollar but runs on its own 7.4V battery. For any USB-powered vest, the cheapest runtime upgrade is a second power bank.

ActionHeat 5V Men's Performance Fleece Battery Heated Vest

Best heated vest overall (and best heated fleece vest)

ActionHeat 5V Men's Performance Fleece Battery Heated Vest heated vest

ActionHeat: $139.99 (was $189.99) · Heat zones: 3 · Low setting: 4.5+ hours

"Heated fleece vest" is the fastest-rising heated-vest search this month, and this is the one we'd point most people to first. It's a plain black fleece vest that looks like something you'd wear to the hardware store, with three carbon-fiber heating panels built in: one on each side of the chest and one across the upper back.

ActionHeat lists three heat settings: about 150°F on high for 2+ hours, 130°F on medium for 3+ hours and 110°F on low for 4.5+ hours, from the included 5-volt, 6,000mAh power bank. ActionHeat says most 5V USB power banks will run it. Ghost Mode turns off the glowing button light while the heat stays on, which matters if you wear it as an outer layer at dawn.

The fleece itself is a lofted, anti-pill knit that ActionHeat says holds less than 1% of its weight in water. It's machine washable on gentle once you unplug the battery. At about $140 (down from $189.99), it's the best mix of price, everyday wearability and real heat in this guide. Every men's size from S to 3XL was in stock on October 5.

ExtrasGhost Mode (light off, heat on); machine washable

For women: ActionHeat 5V Women's Performance Fleece Battery Heated Vest, $189.99 at ActionHeat on October 5 (XS-XXL, all in stock).

Pros

  • + Fleece looks normal enough to wear anywhere
  • + Ghost Mode hides the glowing button
  • + Works with most 5V USB power banks
  • + Every men's size in stock, on sale the day we checked

Cons

  • − 4.5+ hours on low is average; carry a second bank for an all-day sit
  • − Fleece isn't windproof, so wear a shell over it in wind
  • − The women's version wasn't on sale ($189.99)

ActionHeat 5V Men's Battery Heated Hunting Vest

Best heated vest for hunting

ActionHeat 5V Men's Battery Heated Hunting Vest heated vest

ActionHeat: $139.99 (was $189.99) · Women's: $113.99 · Low setting: 4.5+ hours

If the vest is going into a tree stand or a ground blind, start here. It's the same three-panel, 5-volt heating system as our top pick, wrapped in a Realtree Edge camo softshell that's built for the woods: a three-layer fabric with a laminated membrane, a brushed fleece lining, and a shell ActionHeat calls water-resistant enough to shed rain and snow.

Hunters will like the details. There are two zippered hand pockets plus a hidden battery pocket, cinch bungees at the hem to seal out drafts, and YKK zippers. The heat settings match the fleece vest: 150°F high (2+ hours), 130°F medium (3+ hours) and 110°F low (4.5+ hours) on the included 6,000mAh bank.

It was about $140 on October 5 (down from $189.99), with every men's size from S to 3XL in stock. The women's version was even cheaper at $113.99, in XS to XL; women's XXL was sold out.

SizesMen's S-3XL, all in stock; women's XS-XL in stock; XXL sold out

Pros

  • + Realtree Edge camo for the stand or blind
  • + Water-resistant softshell with fleece lining
  • + Hidden battery pocket plus two zip pockets
  • + Women's version is the cheapest vest here at $113.99

Cons

  • − Camo isn't for everyday wear
  • − Same 4.5+ hour low runtime as the cheaper vests
  • − Softshell can rustle more than a fleece; check before bowhunting

Fieldsheer Peak Bluetooth Heated Vest

Longest listed runtime

Fieldsheer Peak Bluetooth Heated Vest heated vest
Fieldsheer Peak Bluetooth Heated Vest. The glow shows where the heating panels sit (maker render). Photo: Sportsman's Warehouse.

Sportsman's Warehouse: $129.99 · Heat zones: 3 · Listed runtime: up to 10 hours per charge

Fieldsheer's Peak is the vest to look at if runtime is what you care about most. Sportsman's Warehouse lists it with a 7.4-volt, 2,200mAh lithium-ion battery and "up to 10 hours of power per charge," the longest runtime claim of any vest in this guide. That works out to about 7.7 hours of listed heat per $100, more than double most of the field.

It's a four-way-stretch softshell with Fieldsheer's Windshark fabric for wind, rain and water protection, a moisture-wicking mesh liner and anti-static treatment. Three heat zones cover both sides of the chest and the back. You get four heat settings and can change them with a waterproof button on the chest or from your phone through Fieldsheer's MW Connect app over Bluetooth.

One trade-off: it runs on Fieldsheer's own 7.4V battery, not a standard USB power bank, so a spare means buying Fieldsheer's battery. Sportsman's had every listed size in stock on October 5 (M, L, XL, XXL and 3XL) at about $130.

Battery7.4V 2200mAh Powersheer lithium-ion; charge time 3-4 hours
Listed runtimeUp to 10 hours per charge

Pros

  • + Longest listed runtime here: up to 10 hours
  • + Bluetooth app control plus a waterproof button
  • + Four heat settings instead of three
  • + Under $130

Cons

  • − Proprietary 7.4V battery; it can't charge your phone
  • − Fieldsheer's runtime is a maximum, not a per-setting chart
  • − No size S or women's cut listed at Sportsman's

ActionHeat Pro Series+ Bluetooth Men's Puffer Heated Vest

Most heat zones (premium pick)

ActionHeat Pro Series+ Bluetooth Men's Puffer Heated Vest heated vest
ActionHeat Pro Series+ Bluetooth Men's Puffer Heated Vest. The glow shows where the heating panels sit (maker render). Photo: ActionHeat.

ActionHeat: $229.99 · Heat zones: 6 · Low setting: 6+ hours

Most heated vests warm three spots. ActionHeat's Pro Series+ puffer warms six: the chest, the back, the collar and both hand pockets.

It's also the best-insulated vest here: 140 grams of synthetic fill under a water-resistant DWR shell and a fleece lining, so it keeps you warm even with the heat off. ActionHeat pairs it with a bigger 10,000mAh power bank (PD and QC 3.0 fast charging) and lists 150°F on high for 2+ hours, 130°F on medium for 3+ hours and 115°F on low for 6+ hours. You can control it from a touch button with Ghost Mode or from the Bluetooth app.

At about $230 it's the most expensive vest in this guide and works out to the least listed heat per dollar. On October 5, men's M through XXL were in stock; S and 3XL were sold out. The women's version had every size from XS to XXL.

For women: ActionHeat Pro Series+ Bluetooth Women's Puffer Heated Vest, $229.99 at ActionHeat on October 5 (XS-XXL, all in stock).

Pros

  • + Six zones, including heated hand pockets and collar
  • + 140g insulation keeps you warm with the heat off
  • + Bigger 10,000mAh bank, 6+ hours on low
  • + Bluetooth app plus Ghost Mode button

Cons

  • − Lowest listed hours per dollar
  • − Men's S and 3XL sold out on October 5

Muddy Men's Nucleus Heated Vest

Best heated base layer for late-season sits

Muddy Men's Nucleus Heated Vest heated vest
Muddy Men's Nucleus Heated Vest. Photo: Sportsman's Warehouse.

Sportsman's Warehouse: $139.99 · Heat zones: 3 · Battery: 10,000mAh

Muddy's Nucleus vest is built differently from everything else here. It isn't an outer vest at all. It's a thin, sleeveless next-to-skin layer in Brown Clay, meant to go under your hunting clothes.

It also puts the heat in different places. Instead of the usual two chest panels and one back panel, Muddy uses two heating elements across the back and one on the stomach. You get three settings (low, medium and high) and a 10,000mAh rechargeable battery, one of the two largest batteries in this guide.

What Muddy's listing doesn't give is a runtime, so it's the one vest we couldn't put on the runtime chart. Sportsman's had sizes M, L, XL and 2XL in stock on October 5 at about $140.

Pros

  • + Thin enough to wear under all your hunting layers
  • + Heat on the stomach and lower back, not just the chest
  • + Big 10,000mAh battery
  • + Earth-tone color, no camo needed underneath

Cons

  • − No runtime published
  • − No pockets; it's a base layer, not a vest you'd wear alone
  • − No size S or women's cut listed

ActionHeat 5V Men's Pocono Insulated Puffer Heated Vest

Best heated puffer vest for the money

ActionHeat 5V Men's Pocono Insulated Puffer Heated Vest heated vest

ActionHeat: $139.99 (was $189.99) · Women's Pocono: $189.99 · Low setting: 4.5+ hours

If you like the puffer look and want insulation that works even with the heat switched off, the Pocono gets you there for about $90 less than the Pro Series+. It's a color-block insulated puffer with a water-resistant shell, a heat-trapping insulated layer and ActionHeat's standard three-panel heating system on the chest and upper back.

Specs match ActionHeat's other 5V vests: 150°F high for 2+ hours, 130°F medium for 3+ hours and 110°F low for 4.5+ hours on the included 6,000mAh USB bank. On October 5 the men's Pocono was on sale at about $140 (down from $189.99) in every size from S to 3XL, in Black/Olive Green or Black/Quiet Shade Grey.

The heated puffer that ActionHeat sells as its standard "Insulated Puffer" already appears in our heated jackets for hunters guide, so we feature the Pocono here instead. The women's Pocono was $189.99 in XS to XXL.

Pros

  • + Insulated puffer for under $140 on sale
  • + Warm even with the heat off
  • + Two color options, S to 3XL
  • + Standard USB power bank

Cons

  • − Three zones only; no heated pockets
  • − Puffer fabric is noisier than fleece for bowhunting
  • − Women's version wasn't on sale

ActionHeat 5V Battery Heated Vest Liner

Best heated vest liner for layering

ActionHeat 5V Battery Heated Vest Liner heated vest
ActionHeat 5V Battery Heated Vest Liner. The glow shows where the heating panels sit (maker render). Photo: ActionHeat.

ActionHeat: $119.99 · Heat zones: 3 · Low setting: 4.5+ hours

Already own a hunting coat you love? A liner adds heat without replacing it. ActionHeat designed this thin nylon vest to go over a base layer and under a jacket, so it adds very little bulk and lets your outer shell do the work against wind and rain.

It uses the same three panels (two chest, one upper back) and 6,000mAh USB bank as the other ActionHeat vests, but the temperatures are set lower because it sits closer to your body: 130°F on high for 2+ hours, 110°F on medium for 3+ hours and 90°F on low for 4.5+ hours.

Sizing is the widest in this guide. On October 5 ActionHeat had S/M, L/XL, XXL/3XL and even 4XL in stock, all at about $120.

SizesS/M, L/XL, XXL/3XL, 4XL, all in stock

Pros

  • + Thin layer that fits under the coat you already own
  • + Sizes up to 4XL, all in stock
  • + Standard USB power bank
  • + Under $120

Cons

  • − Lower top temperature (130°F) than the outer vests
  • − Not meant to be worn alone
  • − No sale price the day we checked

ActionHeat 5V Men's Classic Heated Fleece Vest

Best budget heated vest

ActionHeat 5V Men's Classic Heated Fleece Vest heated vest
ActionHeat 5V Men's Classic Heated Fleece Vest. The glow shows where the heating panels sit (maker render). Photo: ActionHeat.

ActionHeat: $99.99 (was $199.99) · Women's: $99.99 · Low setting: 4.5+ hours

Under $100, this is the cheapest way into a real battery-heated vest from either store. ActionHeat's Classic is a polar fleece vest with the same Tri-Zone heating as its pricier vests: three panels on the chest and upper back, three settings (150°F, 130°F and 110°F) and up to 4.5+ hours on low from the included 6,000mAh power bank. It has Ghost Mode, four LED battery-level lights and goes in the washer on gentle.

The difference from our top pick is the fabric. Polar fleece is simpler than the Performance Fleece's lofted, water-shedding knit, so think of it as a casual layer. On October 5 it was about $100, half its $199.99 list price, which also makes it the best listed heat per dollar from ActionHeat in our chart.

Men's sizes M through XXL were in stock (no S was listed). The women's Classic was the same $99.99 in S to XL.

Heat zones3 (chest x2, upper back)
SettingsHigh 150F 2+ h / Med 130F 3+ h / Low 110F 4.5+ h
Battery5V 6000mAh power bank
FabricPolar fleece
SizesMen's M-XXL in stock (no S listed); women's S-XL, all in stock

Pros

  • + Lowest price in this guide at $99.99
  • + Same three-zone heat and Ghost Mode as pricier ActionHeat vests
  • + Men's and women's versions at the same price
  • + Machine washable

Cons

  • − Basic polar fleece; not water-resistant
  • − No men's size S listed
  • − Sale price may not last

Which should you buy?

What to look for in a heated vest

  • Where the heat goes. Three zones (two chest, one upper back) is standard. More zones, like heated pockets or a collar, cost more and drain the battery faster. Muddy's lower-back and stomach layout is worth a look if your lower back gets cold on a stand.
  • Battery type. ActionHeat's 5V vests run on standard USB power banks, so a spare is cheap and can charge your phone. Fieldsheer and some others use their own 7.4V packs. Either way, a spare battery is the easiest way to double your time afield.
  • Listed runtime vs. real runtime. Makers rate runtime on the lowest setting. Expect less in hard cold, and about 2 hours on high for most vests here.
  • Outer vest or layer? Fleece, softshell and puffer vests can be worn alone. A liner or base layer like the Muddy is meant to go under your coat. Heat works best when it's close to your body and covered by an insulating layer.
  • The rest of your cold-weather kit. A heated vest pairs well with heated gloves and good insulated boots. See our cold-weather hunting apparel sets and best hunting boots, and if you'd rather heat the whole upper body, our heated jackets for hunters guide.

Battery safety and care

Remove the battery before washing and follow the maker's wash instructions. Charge lithium batteries on a hard surface, don't leave them charging unattended, and pack spares in your carry-on when you fly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best heated vest?

For most people, the ActionHeat 5V Performance Fleece Battery Heated Vest: three heat zones, up to 150°F, 4.5+ hours on low from a standard USB power bank, and about $140 on sale on October 5, 2026. Hunters should look at ActionHeat's Realtree Edge hunting vest, and anyone who wants the longest runtime should look at the Fieldsheer Peak.

How long do heated vest batteries last?

It depends on the setting. ActionHeat lists 2+ hours on high, 3+ on medium and 4.5+ on low for its 5V vests with a 6,000mAh bank, and 6+ hours on low for the Pro Series+ with a 10,000mAh bank. Fieldsheer lists up to 10 hours per charge for the Peak. Cold weather and wind shorten all of these, so carry a spare battery for long sits.

Are Milwaukee or Ororo heated vests better?

They're two of the most-searched heated vest brands, but neither ActionHeat nor Sportsman's Warehouse sold them on October 5, so we didn't rank them. Milwaukee's vests run on its M12 tool batteries, which makes sense if you already own M12 tools. If you don't, the vests here use either standard USB power banks (ActionHeat) or their own packs (Fieldsheer, Muddy), and compare on the same specs: zones, runtime, battery and price.

What's the best heated vest for women?

ActionHeat sells women's cuts of most of its vests. On October 5 the Women's Heated Hunting Vest was the cheapest at $113.99 (XS to XL), the Women's Classic Fleece was $99.99, the Women's Performance Fleece and Pocono Puffer were $189.99, and the Women's Pro Series+ Puffer was $229.99 with heated pockets.

Can you wear a heated vest under a jacket?

Yes, and that's often where it works best. The heat stays close to your body and the jacket traps it. ActionHeat's Vest Liner and Muddy's Nucleus are designed specifically to go under other layers.

Can you wash a heated vest?

Most can be washed once the battery is removed. ActionHeat lists all of its vests here as machine washable on the gentle cycle. Fieldsheer and Muddy have their own care instructions, so check the tag.

Is a heated vest good for hunting?

It's one of the best cold-weather upgrades for stand and blind hunters, because sitting still is when you get cold. Pick a quiet fabric, keep the button light off (ActionHeat's Ghost Mode does that), and wear it under your outer camo or choose a camo vest like ActionHeat's Realtree Edge model.

The bottom line

Buy the ActionHeat Performance Fleece if you want one heated vest that works for chores, games and the walk to the stand. Buy the ActionHeat Heated Hunting Vest if it's going to the woods, or the Fieldsheer Peak Bluetooth if runtime matters most. And whichever you choose, a spare battery is the cheapest way to make it last all day.
