Bowmar's EPIC Technology deploys the blades at over 940 MPH, driven by more than 17 lbs of stored blade energy. The interlaced cut-on-contact system starts cutting the instant it touches, and Bone-Evading Spring Technology works with it to help penetration while reducing resistance. The design is also meant to cut down ferrule drag.
The ferrule is titanium, and the blades are .035" German Lutz stainless steel, chosen for sharpness and edge retention. Each head weighs 100 grains with a 2 in. cutting diameter.
