My Patriot Supply and 4Patriots look almost identical on paper. Both sell just-add-water emergency food in pouches, both claim up to a 25-year shelf life, both have patriotic branding, and both run ads everywhere. So which one gives your family more food for the money?

We skipped the marketing and compared the one number that matters in an emergency: calories. "Servings" can mean anything, and "4 weeks" depends on how much food the company assumes you'll eat. So we took every matching kit size, from 72 hours to a full year, divided the price by the total calories each brand publishes, and calculated what one 2,000-calorie day of food really costs from each. Every number comes from the two companies' own sites, checked on September 24, 2026.

The difference that decides it: calories per day

My Patriot Supply builds its kits around about 2,000 calories per person per day, and publishes the total calories for every kit. 4Patriots publishes its totals too, and its own product pages list 1,302 to 1,600 calories per day depending on the kit. 4Patriots is upfront about it: its calorie disclosure says the kits "are not intended to be complete caloric replacements," and that in an extended emergency you'll want to supplement them.

That's not a scam. It's a different design choice. But it means a 4Patriots "3-Month" kit and a My Patriot Supply "3-Month" kit are not the same amount of food. At a steady 2,000 calories a day:

• The 4Patriots 3-Month kit lasts about 69 days. The My Patriot Supply 3-Month lasts about 90 days.
• The 4Patriots 1-Year kit lasts about 279 days. The My Patriot Supply 1-Year lasts about 363 days.
• The 4Patriots 4-Week kit lasts about 18 days. The My Patriot Supply 4-Week lasts about 28 days.

Price vs price: every kit size compared

My Patriot Supply comes out cheaper per calorie at all six sizes, by about 18% on the 1-Year kit, about 23% on the 2-Week and 3-Month kits, and 37–41% on the 72-Hour, 1-Week and 4-Week kits. The only place 4Patriots looks cheaper is the sticker: its 2-Week and 1-Year kits cost less up front, but they contain far fewer calories.

Head-to-head, kit by kit

72-Hour: $9.61 vs $16.25 per 2,000-calorie day

Both are small "taste it first" kits with 20 servings. My Patriot Supply's delivers 6,240 calories (about 2,080 a day) for $29.99. 4Patriots' delivers 4,800 calories (1,600 a day) for $39.00 direct, or $29.00 on Amazon. Even at the Amazon price, 4Patriots works out to $12.08 per 2,000-calorie day against $9.61 for My Patriot Supply.

This is where the gap gets big. My Patriot Supply's 4-Week kit has 250 servings and 56,460 calories, about 2,016 a day. 4Patriots' 4-Week kit has 192 servings and 36,480 calories, 1,302 a day by its own label. At 2,000 calories a day, the 4Patriots kit lasts about 18 days, not 28. Amazon sells the same 192-serving 4Patriots kit for $247.00 (vs $299.00 direct), which is $13.54 a day. My Patriot Supply is still cheaper at $9.85.

3-Month: $8.77 vs $11.45 per 2,000-calorie day

The two flagship kits cost almost exactly the same: $797.95 vs $799.00. My Patriot Supply's has 846 servings and 181,960 calories. 4Patriots' has 712 servings and 139,600 calories, 1,551 a day by its own label. It's 4Patriots' best-selling kit, with 5,510 reviews averaging 4.7 on its site. At 2,000 calories a day, the My Patriot Supply kit lasts about 90 days and the 4Patriots kit about 69. Same price, roughly three extra weeks of food.

What's inside: both lean on carbs

Open either brand's contents list and you'll see the same strategy: cheap, filling, shelf-stable carbohydrates. The 4Patriots 3-Month kit includes 64 servings each of buttermilk pancakes, sweet oatmeal, creamy rice & vegetable dinner, broccoli bake, Alfredo and Spanish rice, 80 servings of white rice and 80 of tropical energy drink. The My Patriot Supply 3-Month kit leans on 130 servings of pancake mix, 112 of oatmeal and 100 of white rice, plus mac & cheese, chicken-flavored rice and stroganoff.

Both are light on protein for an adult. My Patriot Supply's own graphic puts its 2-Week kit at 626 grams of protein, about 45 grams a day. About those reviews: both companies show excellent ratings on their own sites, which the sellers collect and display. On Trustpilot both score poorly, and the complaints lean toward orders and service rather than the food. On Amazon, the 4Patriots kits we checked average 4.3–4.4 stars: the 4-Week from 1,437 ratings, the 72-Hour from 2,806, the 2-Week from 362.
