Product description

Big-frame Glocks get carried where the light runs out: a 10mm on a chest rig at last light in bear country, a .45 on the nightstand at 2 a.m. The XS R3D 2.0 night sights for the Glock 20, 21, 29, 30, 30S, 37, 40 and 41 give that pistol a sight picture you can find in any light. The high-contrast orange front pairs a tritium vial with a Glow Dot that absorbs ambient light and glows as the light fades.

The rear sight holds larger tritium vials than XS's standard R3D sets, ringed in black PVC, which XS says enhances the tritium, and covered by an anti-reflective lens. In daylight, the serrated rear face cuts glare, and a ledge on the rear gives you a catch point for one-handed slide manipulation.

The set is CNC-machined steel with a Black Nitride finish for corrosion resistance, which helps a gun that lives in a humid truck or rides on your belt through a sweaty hunt. XS designed the rear with a lead-in edge and a crush zone on its underside and says it takes 50% less force to install, so you can do the job with a sight pusher or a hammer and punch. The sights fit standard holsters.

This is the standard-height set, with a 0.215 in. front and a 0.340 in. rear. Tritium illumination carries XS's 12-year warranty, and XS makes its sights in Fort Worth, Texas.

Can I install these myself, or do I need a gunsmith?

XS says its Glock sights install with sight pusher tools or a hammer and punch, and the R3D 2.0 rear needs 50% less force thanks to its lead-in edge and crush zone. The kit includes red threadlocker and an instruction insert. If you'd rather not drift sights yourself, a gunsmith can do it.

How long will the tritium glow?

XS warrants the tritium illumination to glow for 12 years for the original purchaser. Tritium dims gradually over its life, and XS notes that normal dimming isn't a warranty claim.
