Product description

A carry gun has to work wherever you are when trouble starts: a dim parking garage, a dark hallway at home, the last light on the walk back to the truck. The XS R3D 2.0 night sights for the Glock 42, 43, 43X and 48 are made for those moments. The front sight pairs a tritium vial with a green Glow Dot that soaks up ambient light, so your eye can find the front sight in bright sun, fading light or no light at all.

The rear sight carries larger tritium vials than XS's standard R3D sets, set in black PVC rings under an anti-reflective lens. Its face is serrated to cut glare in bright light, and a ledge on the rear gives you something to catch for one-handed slide manipulation.

XS machines the set from steel and finishes it in Black Nitride for corrosion resistance, which matters on a slim pistol that rides against your body through sweat and humidity all day. XS also gave the rear sight a lead-in edge and a crush zone on its underside and says that cuts installation force by 50%, so this is a realistic DIY job with a sight pusher or a hammer and punch. The sights fit standard holsters.

This is the standard-height set for Glock 42, 43, 43X and 48 slides, with a 0.215 in. front and a 0.300 in. rear. XS lists Glock A-CUT 43X and 48 slides as a separate fit, so check your slide before you order. The tritium is covered by XS's 12-year warranty, and XS makes its sights in Fort Worth, Texas.

Which Glock models does this set fit?

XS lists this set (part GL-R203P-6G) for the Glock 42, 43, 43X and 48 at standard height. XS sells a different set for Glock A-CUT 43X and 48 slides, so confirm which slide you have before ordering.

Can I install these myself, or do I need a gunsmith?

XS says its Glock sights install with sight pusher tools or a hammer and punch, and the R3D 2.0 rear needs 50% less force than before thanks to its lead-in edge and crush zone. The kit includes red threadlocker and an instruction insert. If you'd rather not drift sights yourself, a gunsmith can do it.

How long will the tritium glow?

XS warrants the tritium illumination to glow for 12 years for the original purchaser. Tritium dims gradually over its life, and XS notes that normal dimming isn't a warranty claim.

Will these co-witness with a red dot?

They aren't made for that. This is XS's standard-height set. XS sells separate suppressor-height sets and says those are tall enough to work as backup iron sights with some optics on Glock MOS and A-CUT pistols.
